Regulations for Dormitory Residents (As of June 20, 2024)
Article 1. Title and Purpose
- These regulations are the Dormitory Life Rules for residents of Inha University Dormitory, based on Article 12 of the Inha University Dormitory Internal Regulations (herein after referred to as ’regulations’).
- The purpose of these regulations is to ensure a safe and orderly environment within the dormitory, facilitating an atmosphere conducive to academic study and cultural enrichment.
Article 2. Principles
- Residents must abide by the regulations to ensure public safety and refrain from engaging in any behavior that may cause harm to others, including consuming alcohol, using illegal drugs, smoking, gambling, and engaging in violence.
- It is prohibited to accompany outsiders into the dormitory and change the room assignment among the residents without approval.
- Residents must sincerely follow the guidance and instructions of the Residence Hall Director, staff, and residential assistants for the safety and order of communal living.
Article 3. Entry and Overnight Stays

Gate opening and closing Division Time Gate opening 05 : 00 Gate closing (The following day) 01 : 30 - In cases of necessity during weekdays, an overnight stay report must be submitted online. (However, Fridays and the day before public holidays are excluded from the overnight stay reporting requirements.)
- Residents can submit a report for overnight stays via the dormitory website(for reporting and checking overnight stays) until 11:30 p.m. on the same day.
- Unauthorized overnight stays will result in penalty points being assigned. (However, individuals who have submitted an overnight stay report under Clause 2 are excluded. Exceptions can be made in special cases such as personal hospitalization or the death of an immediate family member, provided that supporting documentation is submitted.)
Article 4. Resident Headcount and Special Living Inspections
- The number of residents will be checked by the dormitory access control system at the front gate.
- Special Living Inspections.
- Residents must sincerely participate in special living inspections, which are conducted for checking the cleanliness of the rooms, the condition and presence of facilities and equipment, and other matters necessary for orderly communal living, as well as for addressing residents’feedback.
- Special living inspections are carried out as deemed necessary by the Residence Hall Director, who also sets the schedule for these inspections.
Article 5. Cafeteria
- The dining hours will follow the principles below but may be adjusted according to the Cafeteria's operational circumstances.

- Residents who wish to use the cafeteria on weekends and holidays must buy extra meal tickets.
- It is prohibited to move dining utensils and tableware outside of the cafeteria.
Article 6. Public Property
- Residents must compensate at actual cost for any damages or losses to the facilities caused by their negligence.
- It is prohibited to move any equipment within the dormitory without approval.
- Residents are not allowed to change their assigned rooms on their own initiative. However, changes can be made with the approval of the Residence Hall Director in exceptional circumstances.
- Only electrical appliances approved by the dormitory are allowed, and the list of approved items will be provided separately. Any other appliances may only be brought in with prior approval from the dormitory director.
Article 7. Visiting
- Visiting hours are from 9a.m to 9p.m.
- Residents who wish to have visitors must fill out a visitor log at the security office before meeting in designated areas. Room visits are not allowed. (However, family visits may be permitted in the rooms with prior approval from the Dormitory Administrative Office or the residential assistant, ensuring that all visits adhere to the dormitory's regulations to maintain safety and privacy)
Article 8. Hygiene and Sanitation
- Residents must diligently follow infection prevention guidelines required for communal living. In particular, they are required to submit medical documentation proving they are free from tuberculosis on the day of move-in. Failure to provide this documentation may result in denial of entry to the dormitory."
- In case legal communicable disease occurs, residents must notify the Dormitory Administrative Office immediately and take appropriate actions.
- Residents must always maintain cleanliness inside and outside the dormitory, and no pets are allowed to be brought in or bred within premises.
Article 9. Dormitory Life and Etiquette
- Residents must behave courteously towards faculty, staff, and fellow students.
- Drinking alcohol within the dormitory and smoking inside the building are prohibited.
- All announcements will be conveyed through the dormitory’s bulletin boards and the dormitory website.
- Entry into other residents’room is forbidden.
- Residents are responsible for any loss of their personal valuables and belongings.
Article 10. Parcels
- Residents can collect their parcels between 07:00 to 24:00.
- Provided, That registered mail shall be received after confirming the ID card at the Dormitory Administrative Office or the security office.
Article 11. Punishments
Violations of the following rules will result in penalties, including potential eviction or restrictions on future residency. Decisions regarding eviction or residency restrictions will be determined by the disciplinary committee after review.
- Immediate Expulsion and Admission Restriction
- Those who disobey or are disrespectful towards the guidance of faculty, residential assistants, and staff.
- Individuals with accumulative penalty points exceeding 7
- Engaging in drinking, smoking, gambling, acts of violence, theft, bringing alcohol into the dormitory, or causing damage to property
- A person who has been punished for violating school rules
- Residents who relocate rooms without authorization
- Individuals diagnosed with a legally notifiable communicable disease
- A person who allows unauthorized outsiders into the dormitory
- Entry into restricted areas within the dormitory premises.
- Using the campus internet to distribute illegal or pornographic materials or for commercial purposes.
- Individuals who bring hazardous materials or unauthorized electrical appliances.
- Individuals with specific conditions, such as snoring or teeth grinding, that may disrupt communal living.
- Individuals deemed unsuitable for communal living for any other reasonable cause.
- 1 Penalty Point
- Staying outside without report(1 penalty point per night)
- A person who violates the guidelines for the use of common goods
- 2 Penalty Points
- Moving or changing the position of equipments in the room without approval
- Engaging in significantly inappropriate behavior
- 3 Penalty Points
- Duplicating a room key or lending it to others
- Distributing or posting unauthorized flyers and engaging in group activities unrelated to dormitory affairs.
- Raising animals or allowing them to enter the dormitory
- Residents who lend or transfer their student ID to others for dormitory access, or allow others to enter using it.
Article 12. Award Points
Residents who engage in the following actions can be granted award points, which can offset penalty points.
- Participating in the dormitory events
- Participating in volunteer work activities within the dormitory
- A Person recognized by the Residence Hall Director
Article 13. Withdrawal
- Normal Withdrawal
- Residents must properly return all items provided by the dormitory, such as keys, key chains, bed covers, etc., gather all personal belongings, and then proceed to checkout following the established procedures.
Deposit refund will be made within 3 weeks from the withdrawal date.
- Withdrawal During the Semester(During Vacation)
- Individuals wishing to checkout must fill out a withdrawal form and submit all items provided by the dormitory to the Dormitory Administrative Office.
- Refund Policy
- Withdrawal during the semester is subject to the refund criteria for the semester
- Withdrawal during the vacation is subject to the refund criteria for the vacation(long-term)
- Will be refunded according to the original Dorm fee

Expulsion
PenaltyA deduction of 100,000 KRW will be applied for each reason before processing the refund. Meal Plan Return as many days remaining, excluding leaving weeks
3) Failure to comply with the aforementioned procedures will be considered unauthorized withdrawal, resulting in no refund of Dormitory Fees and denial of re-admission to the dormitory.
Article 14. General Rules
- Residents may watch TV until 23:50. After midnight (00:00), visiting other rooms is not permitted.
- Residents must sort and dispose of trash according to its type.
- Parking of cars within the dormitory premises is strictly prohibited. However, motorcycles and bicycles are exceptions, provided they are registered with the Dormitory Administrative Office and parked in the designated areas only.
Article 15. Penalty Points Duration
- Penalty points are categorized and managed according to two periods: the academic semester and the vacation period.
- Residents are responsible for regularly reviewing their penalty points. Should there be any disputes or questions regarding the allocation of penalty points, residents are encouraged to promptly address these concerns with the Dormitory Administrative Office or Security Office.
